T9 Keyboard

Is there any way to set up my SMS to make it T9? I don't really like using the QWERTY keyboard.

I know that there's an app for using T9 but I don't like the idea of having to copy & paste into a message, it kind of defeats the purpose. Plus then every time I get a new message I would have to close out the message, open the app, and repeat the copy & paste process.

I don't know if employees at Apple read this, but would it be a ton of trouble to add that into the next update?

PS- The Droid Incredible has a T9 keyboard **Cough cough**

I have to say that I too, love love T9. The keyboard is so much easier to use, and it is wayyy faster to type. That said, I tried the app you suggested, and I am not getting any more value than the qwerty keyboard on my iphone.

The only thing that works that I have liked is I have taken spell check off my iphone as too many times I am fixing 5 letters on its autocorrect instead of just one. I have decided my friends are smart enough to be able to figure out what I am saying without evry letter being correct.

Texting without looking at the screen, with T9. Novel idea! QWERTY was developed in 1873. That makes it 141 years old. I'm certainly hoping someone develops a T9 keyboard for iPhone iOS 8 now that it is allowed. It was one of the reasons I waited so long to try an iPhone. It's been a year since my last T9 on a Nokia so maybe I'll try it and not want to go back. But I sure look forward to trying it again.

Actually for iPhones sold in China and Hongkong, they have original T9 keyboard. I feel the T9 keyboard is really convenient and would love to have it in my phone. Hope Apple would add it to phones sold at other places.

iOs 8 allows the addition of third party keyboards. I haven't checked myself because I never liked T9, but there may be some available.

Yes, there're several third party IMs providing T9 keyboard, but the sad thing is that none of those third party companies is competent of making their IMs as stable and smooth as the native T9 IM.😟

That has not been my experience. However, at present, they are your only option.
