IMovie 11 adjusting photo duration - won't change, various times showing!

H E L P!!!! I have just installed Imovie 11. I am in the finishing stages of a project which HAS TO BE COMPLETED in the next 2 days. I am having grief adjusting the duration for my still photos. I click on the COG - Clip adjustments - change the timing to 08:00 and tick the APPLIES TO ALL STILLS box. The clip won't change and some of them show 12s, some 10s ect. HOW DO I CHANGE THIS?? WHY IS IT SUCH A DRAMA??? I WANT MY STILLS to show for eight seconds only. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME???? THANK YOU

This isn't intuitive but goto Project Properties, make sure your transitions and photos are set for what you want, 2 seconds and 4 seconds for stills, for instance.

Then goto File-> Project Theme, reselect your theme and check automatically add transitions and themes, it resets the whole project correctly.

Thank you, beekayApple! Your solution was the only one that worked for me. For any others who try it, I ended up having to remove my transitions and add them back in again after reselecting, but Project Theme was definitely the key--I selected a different theme and then went back to my original theme and "bingo!" Thanks!

I experienced this behavior after copying a project. It was working correctly prior to that action. It may be that copying triggered the anomaly. I used beekayApples solution successfully.

Try this. Set ANY duration right after you create your project but before you import any content from the library. It worked for me. 🙂

I got this working simply by zooming in, by moving the bar to the right, the bar that's to the left of 'Settings', above the images.
