anyone know if there's a way to do this? am getting weather from weather channel/yahoo, and wanted to switch to accuweather (my girlfriend's older mac is on that service).
Well, I'm running Tiger and my default widget is for Accuweather. If I click on the "i" in the corner it flips over and has a big Accuweather.com hardcoded into the image. I think widgets will probably need to be custom written for the source of the data and maybe back in Tiger days they just included the Accuweather one. If you want Accuweather you'll probably have to download theirs. Then too, the new one looks different from the Tiger one, but the new one works in Tiger so maybe if you like your girlfriend's the old one would work on your machine too?
Do you know you can create a custom widget in Safari? Go to the page that has the information you want and select *File > Open in Dashboard...*. It's mostly self-explanatory from there, but see Safari Help for details.
thanks, i've looked at that (and weatherbug, and some others).
still wondering if there's a way to change the source for weather with apple's default widget tho...
yes, this seems to make the most sense. my GF's on 10.5... ah, well. not a crisis.
(i will say this; some of the custom weather widgets i found are big, and/or ugly...)
