No error message; The program will just not launch;
So this is what I did .....
I am using Shaw Secure as my firewall.....so I "unloaded" the fire wall and then launched itunes.......well this time it launched......so I wonder if the firewall is preventing from launching with the new update.??
Anyways for now, after I launch the itunes, I turn back on the firwall....wierd ,to say the least.....

That's quite possible, zoomie. Firewalls generally have to update their rules for each new version of the iTunes software. So if something goes wrong with the new version of the rule, quite often you can end up with an error-message-free iTunes launch failure.

I haven't had much experience with troubleshooting Shaw Secure (or the F-Secure applications you're dealling with), but it would be nice to get your iTunes launching while the Firewall is enabled.

What level of security do you have the Internet Shield running at?

If it is High or Block All, can you get iTunes to launch if you switch the security level down to Normal?

You could also try disabling the BonJour Service (which is a step short of uninstalling it).

In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again (with the Firewall "on"). Does it launch this time?
