OSX Zip files not readable by PC

The brilliant Compress feature isn't working on the other end - won't work on PCs - or possibly these PC users are just idiots. LOL

At firs they said they could not open it - now, they are telling me -

"After downloading the file and then extracting the file, I get an empty folder called, "_MACOSC""

The zip file opens perfectly here. So is the OSX Compress feature useless for going to other platforms? Should I just use Stuffit or something else so it can be simple enough for PC guys to be able to use?

OS X zip files definitely work on PCs. they will have a _MACOSX folder in it, that is true, but all the stuff that should be in there as well.
I did notice, however, that sometimes opening a zip folder in windows explorer won't do the trick. in such cases, right-click the zip file and select "extract to" or something like that, which will open an extraction wizard, which - strangely - worked for me.

Sorry fore the delay in getting back... holidays and all.

Are you sure you are mailing attachments with the "Windows Friendly Attachments" checked?

They would have been uploaded/downloaded through Google docs as a Zip file. Regardless, AFAIK Zip should be universal and not needing a "windows" box, but will keep an eye on that in future uses of OSX Mail. Thanks!
