Airport Express v7.5.2 firmware won't accept manual IP address

I have three identical Airport Express A1264 'N' that were all running firmware v7.4.2. I was just prompted to update to the new firmware v7.5.2.

They are all configured to "Join a wireless network" and everything on the network is has a static IP - there are no DHCP servers configured.

After first updating Airport Utility to v5.5.2, I uploaded the new 7.5.2 firmware to update them. All three changed the existing static IP to an IP address outside of my network, 169.254.68.x. ALL other configured settings were preserved except for the manual IP address. I manually re-entered the proper static IP addresses again, but upon Update they again reverted to the IP address noted above, which looks suspiciously like numbers that would come from a DHCP.

They of course didn't work, so I uploaded the previous v7.4.2 firmware which accepts and saves my manually configured IP addresses and works fine.

Anyone else experience this?

Just want to confirm the previous, and add a tidbit of info:
I updated firmware in my AE from 7.4.2 to 7.5.2

One day later it stopped playing music: green light but no sound. It could be selected in the AirPlay menu on the iphones (one 3GS w IOS 4.2, one 4 w IOS 4.2) and on the iPad 1 w IOS 4.2, but to no avail (no sound). I was unable to select the AirPlay speakers from the menu in iTunes (this was on a WIN XP).

When accessing the AE to find the problem, I had to reset it to factory settings. To connect to it from the AirPort Utility, I had to shut down the firewall (WIN7 and F-Secure FW).

After reconfiguring and restarting the AE, I found that the fixed IP address had been set to 169.254.68.* . And I was Unable to set the IP manually.

Resolution: Reverted to 7.4.2. After downgrading the AE works, the fixed IP address setting works and the kitchen is filled with the sweet voice of Melody Gardot again.

Note: I have had severe configuration problems with this device, having spent at least 5-6 hours tinkering with the AirPort utility, resetting and taking away set-up profiles. Now I am hesitating to buy the AppleTV 2 unit that I wanted to get. Windows and Macs for sure still have interoperability issues.
