Using the bose T1 audio engine with mainstage.. feedback issues

Hi

Has anyone tried to use a bose T1 audio engine with mainstage by conecting it to the computer with a usb cable? I found that I got feedback through the bose system if that is set as the output however there is no feedback if the output is set as my computer monitors. This problem occurs with mainstage, logic pro and garageband. Is T1 audio engine not like an audio interface? At the moment I am thinking of getting an apogee duet and connecting that to the bose and computer.

Cheers thanks for the help.. I spent ages on the bose discussion forum trying to figure out if a separate interface is necessary. They say you can use the T1 for recording without the need for any additional interface (I have done that successfully) however I haven't been able to use the T1 the way i mentioned in my previous post(s). The concept of a separate interface is still confusing for me.. I thought maybe any mixer would act like an interface too.

It is a bit confusing. Technically, the T1 will send out a digital stereo signal via USB. Its just doesn't seem to be good at it (or designed with that as a priority feature, perhaps). The better your analog-to-digital (A/D), and digital-to-analog (D/A) converters the better. And the fewer times you have to run through A/D and D/A the better!

The Bose site has an L1 forum where you can search for more info on using the USB out, which should give you a cleaner signal than you are getting (for example, check this thread: ( http://bose.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7521050644/m/145104783). However, you will still get much better results running your guitar through a single, dedicated audio interface with quality A/D and D/A.

I still think you will get best and most flexible results like this:
Band member instruments-->T1--> Channel 1 L1
Your guitar + other instrument(s) --> audio interface --> Mainstage --> Channel 2 L1

Or, eliminate the T1 if its not needed for more channels and effects (although it has minimal latency).
