airport firmware update 7.5.2 and iPhone 4g

After I installed the software update for the Airport Utility (5.5.2) and firmware for Airport Time Capsule (7.5.2) my iPhone 4g does not connect to the internet. I have reset the network on iPhone. It will not connect to the main network config at all. It will find the wireless signal for the "guest network" setting, but will not connect to internet or mail. My iPhone is running the newest OS 4.2. Help.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one to have problems with 7.5.2 upgrade. I found that I can not get Internet using my main wireless network, but my network printer, iphone, ipad, Apple TV work OK. I switched to my Guest Network and I can get on the Internet but do not have access to my network printer.
I did a hard reset on the Airport Extreme and set it up again. Still the same problem.
I'm running Snow Leopard. Hopefully Apple will come up with a fix, because it's a real pain having to chop and change between networks!

After latest Airport Extreme firmware update my iPad kept losing its wi-fi connection. After spending a frustrating hour searching online, updating iMac software, rebooting computer and iPad, checking iPad forums, I realized that my iPhone was dropping wi-fi connection too. Wi-fi connection would restore when I walked into the room where iMac and Airport Extreme reside.

When I checked this forum I found my answer...the latest Airport Extreme firmware update is the culprit. Going back to the previous version worked like a charm. I usually make it a practice to not update software right
away, as more than once when I've updated right away, there is one bug-a-boo or another, but I didn't think twice about the firmware update.

Reading your replies and fixes sure got me up and running. Thanks 🙂

I had the same problem. Both our iPhones and iPad were no longer able to connect via wi-fi after the 7.5.2 update. I discovered the problem was DHCP which is being served by my Mac Mini SL Server. Setting the phones to manual IP addressing solved the problem.

However, one of my network devices (a PVR) does not allow manual IPs, so I was forced to downgrade the firmware back to 7.4.2. All devices are working now.

If you are concerned about the security holes missing in the 7.4.2 firmware, update the firmware to 7.5.2 and switch to manual IPs.

If you haven't found how to do it yet, to downgrade your Airport Firmware, simply go to Hard Drive -> Utilities -> Airport Utility.

Across the top bar you will see a tab called "Base Station." Pulldown on that and select "Up Grade Firmware." You'll see "7.5.2" displayed. Pulldown on that and you'll see "7.5.1." Select it and within 5 minutes, your Airport will be operating with the downgraded 7.5.1.

While it might not be the solution, it solved ALL wireless printing issues I was having between my HP and my iPad, iPhone4, 2x MacBook Pros & Mac Pro.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I find version 7.4.2? Whenever Apple updates I don't have a choice of saving the file, so I can't find 7.4.2 on my computer or at the Apple support site.

After hourly prompts for several days, I allowed the upgrade this weekend and it took out my entire network -- no internet, no WiFi, no AirTunes. The AirPort Extreme base station has to be disconnected from the modem and from the computer to allow internet access. When it was connected, Airport Utility could not find any of the base station or my two AirPort Express units, even when the base station and one of the AE units were hard wired to the computer. So the "upgrade" wiped everything out.

So I'm not sure where to start. Though one obvious answer is to bail out of using Apple products with PC's as the whole setup takes forever and the network always seems fragile.

Thanks.

I have had this issues since the beginning.

I have downgraded to the 7.4.2 on both my TC and AE. That did nothing at all, still the same issues.

I then downgraded to the 7.4.1 and, wait for it, the same problems continue......

Right now I am ethernet direct connected. Both the TC and AE are worthless. If anyone has any suggestions it would be welcome.

Another bit of info that might be of relevance, I am on a university network and are redirected when I go to the interned to begin with. So without being able to log on (because it times out) I cant do anything.
