Slow movie downloads

Check your internet speed. Slow internet speed can take a long time. Go to speedtest.net and check. I had AT&T DSL and had the same problem with movies. Have Comcast Internet, download a HD movie in 35 mins, start watching in 30 secs.

I've been trying to watch a few movies on my AppleTV over the past week and each one takes forever to download, and that's if the movie downloads at all. Take for instance the movie Inception... I tried to watch this, this past Thursday night and after 31mins I caught up to the buffer. once this happened the ATV said it would be over 8 hours to finish the download, but the movie NEVER finished the download!

I've checked my download speed and it fine, all my connections are fine and everything else except for the movies download just fine.

Apple.... Please fix this!!!

I have the same problem. Wifi and internet speed are fine. I can download to computer just fine. Downloads directly to iPad are painfully slow. Why would iPad wifi download time be 10x slower than computer?

I also have the same problem. Even you tube videos are very slow and any video from any app downloading from the internet gets stuck and takes hours to download. I dont know if what is making this thing, before I had no problems and my wireless connection is high speed and the tests work perfect. Its frustrating and it has been like these for a week at least

You know the ipad doesn't run flash. You need to download an app if you want to do something like this.

Going to c-net speed test, or speedtest.net or the other thousands of available speed meters is not allowed on the ipad.

Free Web apps are not allowed, you need to buy a speed test app from the market.

I was seeing the same issue, not with video downloads but with app downloads. Large apps such as games were taking literally hours to update or not updating completely, leaving broken versions in their place. Very frustrating. Then I ran across this article:

I switched my AirPort base station from Google DNS to my ISP's DNS and poof: problems gone.
