iPad Mail isn't downloading and can't reset via Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Hi --

The mail on my iPad stopped downloading about a week ago. I have try soft and hard resets, as well as restoring from a backup via iTunes.

More critically, I am unable to delete these mail accounts. When I go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar, the settings app hangs: the Mail / Contacts / Settings pane does not come up, and the app is frozen. I have to kill it by double-pressing the main iPad button to bring up the apps bar at that bottom, and then explicitly close the crashed settings app.

Any suggestions on how to delete those accounts, either by restoring functionality to the Settings app or somehow hacking into the iPad to delete the settings?

Thanks,

Ramon

Same problem for me - ipad 2, IOS 4.3.3, using Exchange to sync Emails with Google. Hangs trying to open the Mail/Contacts/Calendar settings. The Mail client is is showing rotating wheel for all Exchange accounts not able to get the new mails, but still is able to receive/send eMails with Imap accounts. The wheel is shown in mail app without giving any error even if network is switched off completely.

Did settings reset, settings/contents reset, rebooted, recovered from backup - still the same.

How can i fix it? 😟

I am having the same problem.

I changed my Yahoo email password on my mac. Before I could get to my iPad to change it, I got a popup saying it was having trouble downloading mail. Now no mail is downloading for any of my four email accounts and when I go to Settings/Mail, it freezes.

I have done hard resets and restored twice. It does not delete the email accounts and I still can't get into Settings/Mail.

Help!
