Hammond Organ sound

I've worked out how to record music from a Hammond Super SX-3000 organ via the midi ports, but can't find a Hammond organ sound in GarageBand. I thought recording with midi would be the most flexible way of doing this, but perhaps that's not the case.

I've checked the jam packs and they don't have a Hammond Organ.

If you have a Hammond organ and want its sound, then the best thing would be to record it to a real instrument (audio) track, even if you lose the ability to edit the recording.

The software instruments in GB don't carry brand names like Fender or Hammond, just like the amp simulators, probably due to copyright problems. You'd have to check the organ sounds to find something that comes close to your Hammond sound.

Hi Peter,

If you need MIDI (green/editable) regions there are some free "Hammond" soundfonts (sf2) to download on the net.
I can't tell you how good they sound, though...

I think this is the one I constantly use (it's the same name and size) and someone I trust said that the sound is really nice. (Maybe I've changed something? All options are de-selected...)

You put it in (User)/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks/
And access it through the DLSMusicDevice

PS. If you download it; please let me know what you think of the sound...
