You need to do the following to make the Dell 3010CN work on a Mac:

1 - Download Ghostscript & Foomatic (the Mavericks versions work) from here - http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/foomat ic

2 - Download the PPD File from here - http://www.openprinting.org/printers

3 - Open Terminal & type in the following:

cd /usr/libexec/cups/filter

sudo rm foomatic-rip

cd /usr/local/bin

sudo cp * /usr/libexec/cups/filter

(if you have installed a lot of other software in /usr/local/bin, it is better not to copy all files, of course)

(Thanks to ja2661 for the solution on this blog - http://macosx.com/threads/help-me-print-while-using-yosemite.322924/)

4 - Plug in the printer via USB

5 - Go System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > + (add printer) > Select Dell Colour Laser 3010cn

Use: Other...

Select the PPD file downloaded in step 2

Add

Then print. Just done this on 2 machines & works a treat. The issue with Yosemite is to do with Sandboxing of Foomatic / Ghostscript.
