"No location available" using Find iPhone

Just got a 4G Ipod and can't seem to get "Mobile me" to find it. I can send messages and sound the alarm though.

I am getting my Wifi from a USB modem hooked up to a Cradlepoint 3G router and am wondering if that has anything to do with it. I can't find my location using the "maps" icon either.

I'm fairly certain that I have everything set up right in my settings (location Services are on, Mobile me account looks good)I just can't seem to find me on a map anywhere

It appears that the router you are using is not in Apple's database of locations. iPods use the Mac address matched to a location in Apple's database for locating the iPod.

Okay thanks....although I don't completely understand what you are telling me. I'm assuming a 3G router uses some other type of location pinpointing stuff.

Every app that I have used so far that has tried to locate me has failed on this wifi connection, I will have to try on a different one somewhere to see if it works.

I have same problem with ipod 4th gen sends a sound and message but no location found…airport extreme, wifi , location turned on,

For both of you, when you go t the Google Maps app does it correctly find your location?

No it does not… also will not find itself on one of those wifi finder apps

Find iphone works on my iMac for my iphone but not my itouch - and my router is an Apple router and everything was bought at the same time so I assume compatible?
