Can iDVD burn an AVCHD disk

NO - and neither DVD Studio Pro.

But - Roxio Toast™ 10 Pro incl BD-componernt - can do this to satndard DVDs but
limited to about 20-30 minutes.

iDVD can produce widescreen 16:9 DVDs but NOT true HD discs.

Roxio's Toast Titanium Pro will let you put about 20 minutes of Blu-ray readable HD content on a standard DVD - and IF YOU HAVE AN EXTERNAL BLU-RAY BURNER, will let you create true Blu-ray discs.

toast does not keep the original 5.1 surround sound though. Is there another Application that will do this?

the project already has 5.1 surround. All i need is something other then toast because toast burns the AVCHD just fine. But it puts everything into stereo. i want to keep the 5.1 surround or 6.1 surround that i already had.
Problem is dvd studio pro and FCP do not do AVCHD

that doesnt create a BDMV file or AVCHd file. All it wants to do is convert it into an apple pro format.
I can burn it just fine but i cant seem to find a program that will keep the original 5.1 or 6.1 surround sound when creating the BDMV file.
Its driving me crazy trying to figure this out.

I'm pretty sure Encore will handle this.

no when i import the file it says more then 2 channels of audio is not supported for this
So i have found my mac can not make an avchd disc with anything but stereo. I found nero will do 5.1 on windows but i can never get it to burn right i get an error about disc size everytime even if i get the disc size way down.

There has to be something there is no way there is not a way to burn 5.1 audio
