Exact same problem here, just wondering if anyone has found a solution yet as there don't seem to be any recent updates on the problem?
I set my son's iPod touch up with FaceTime, it worked perfectly for a day, then stopped and again we just get the same 'username or password incorrect' warning. My other son's which I set up at the same time, works perfectly.
Thinking of taking a trip to the Apple store at the weekend in sheer desperation, but our nearest is a couple of hours away so I'm not keen!
Any help gratefully received!
Thanks

Well, further to my last post, we went to meet our 'genius' at our nearest Apple store today to see if he could sort this out for us. Short answer? No. He's unsure why we were unable to log into FaceTime with my sons email details although we had registered and verified the details correctly. He's emailed someone using my email asking for help with unblocking my sons email account at FaceTime, and says we should have a response in the next 24hours, so hopefully things will be sorted. He did say that it was a problem no-one in the store had encountered or heard of before, so I told him there were several others on this forum with the exact same problem!
He did find out that we could access FaceTime using MY email details (our iTunes account details).
To cut a long story short he has made my son a new email, (he recommended using gmail), which we then registered to his FaceTime account, and it's working perfectly now! So it's not quite the solution I'd expected but our problem does appear to be solved.

You are not writing to Apple here: http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa

If you want help directly from Apple: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/contact/

i asked this question so i could get a answer, and its been up here for 3 months, id highly appreshiate it if somebody anwered with a way how to fix it, and so would all these other people with the same problem.

(1) If you are still having trouble after considering all the help and troubleshooting suggestions here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319

(2) get a new free email account and use it to establish a new Apple iD to use to activate FaceTime.

There is a link to where to create the new Apple iD is in the troubleshooting section of the article above.

Just add another 4th gen Touch to the list.

I cannot connect either. It keeps saying that my login/passcode is wrong.

I verified the account via email, checked my iTunes store account, so on and so forth.

I can buy a song/app/update with the proper credentials, so I know without a doubt that it's glitch in the Matrix.

I'm debating on whether or not to take it to the apple store.

You may certainly wait if you like, but Kjindawg asked if anyone could help him now.
Hence my reply that gives immediate help.

With Facetime for Mac, using the same network and the same Apple ID, no problem 😟
