Boot camp slow down my Mac

Dear all, I'm using MacBook Pro 13".
Now my Mac works slower. It take me around 5minutes to boot up and some other software seem a bit slower than last month.

Any idea to improve my Mac performance?

MacBook Pro 13", Mac OS X (10.6.5)

I am experiencing similar symptoms to those described above; Mar11 15" MBP, which boots really fast and apps open quickly too. Performance slowed after installing Win7 (not having much luck with VirtualBox- several windows programs I want to use dont work, so using boot camp).

The general slowdown and "disk thrashing" mentioned seems to be stopped by preventing spotlight from indexing the bootcamp partition.

@ds store - I am interested in your comment "Windows requires a day or so for the validation to work through"- you dont mean that this will affect the machine when booted into OS X, I assume? I have installed all the (seemingly endless!) updates (including SP1), but not yet validated my Windows install. Windows performance seems pretty good to me.

I had these problems too when I used bootcamp to install Win7 64 bit onto my macbook air 11" i5 mid 2013. In preparation I switched on Time Machine and connected an external drive to back up which was great and caused no issues. I ejected the drive but left time machine switched on and proceeded to use Bootcamp and install Win 7. Everything worked well but then I noticed when I switched back to my mac book air, OS X mavericks was running very slow. Eventually, I worked out that Time machine was still switched on with no external drive connected! As soon as I went to the time machine APP and switched it off, my mac sprang back to life! Everything now works really fast again on either Win 7 or OS X mavericks! I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing this problem.

Guys Please Ignore my other post my account was hacked 😮

{Message to who ever hacked/used my account I Have Changed my password and I will call authorities if it is breached one more time}

However I do know the fix for this

These steps need to be done separately (windows Partition) (Mac Partition)

However I take no responsibility if you ruin your computer make sure you backup all your data first

Mac <--- Costs 22 Euro

I had purchased idefrag and defraged my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) and had ran a Full Defrag, it had added A LOT of speed for my macintosh HD partition but my windows partition is still the same speed. However idefrag costs money..😢

Steps For Macintosh Partition Fix [Warning Make Sure You Are Using The Right Version For Your OSX ]

1) On The Left hand side goto Macintosh HD

2) Select Full Defrag [Enter Password if necessary]

3) Click Go

4) Your Computer will restart Then Repeat Steps 1-->3 [Warning After You Have Started your defrag DO NOT turn your computer off make sure its plugged in+Charging in the event of your computer turning off while defraging you MIGHT loose some data]

No Videos Available I will update this post when there is a video on defragng your Mac

Windows [For Windows ,8 and 8.1]

windows is known to slow down your computer performance as it is very demanding,so it comes with a builtin defray tool.

1) Goto Start

2) Search Defrag (in settings)

3) Click Defragment and optimize your drives

(It will then launch at your desktop)

4) Click Analyze [Optional Step] - [Takes Time]

5) Click Optimize (Can Take up to 3-5 Hours) Depending How Much of a defrag Your Computer needs)
