iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.1 alarm not working since 01.01.2011. Tried different settings such as turning off automatic update and changing location. Nothing seem to be working. Any solution?
I have the same problem. But, I found a quick fix. Go to your clock and create a new alarm. This will not work unless you create a new alarm. Configure your alarm. Then, press repeat. Make sure you do or you're going to sleep in. Always create a new alarm. I tried this merho and tested it many times. Apple also released a statement saying that the problem might be resolved on Jan 3. Good luck and make sure you don't skip a step. Glad I could help.
I too would love to see the logic behind the "bug" Computers "know" dates in different ways than we describe them - so presumably something is odd about Jan 1 & 2 2011.
Alarm on iPhone 4 is toast for me too---tried software boot, hardware boot---NOTHING---went to Apps store and blew a buck on the ALARM CLOCK app---which worked
This is completely ridiculous. I have been an Apple fan for a long time, and have forgiven many of the shortcomings of the iPhone, but this is just ridiculous - especially when it begins to disrupt my daily routine. Shame on you Apple. Are you trying to lose customers to Android?
It's funny to see how many people are "totally" dependent on the iPhone and its features. If in any case your life depends on something like a clock, by all means, take 100% responsibility of your life and buy and set two or three different clocks. Then you'll be taking measures into your own hands. It's easy to complain. If you could just stop complaining and anticipate. How much happier would you be? How much more secure would you feel? Also, so many people spouting their resentment here but what you are reading in this thread reflects only one issue of one product. Do you really judge every product like this? Assumption: the iPhone has over 50,000 features (all the apps included). No product in this world is 100% perfect. Just like someone wrote here "it's man-made and thus error-prone". I'm not saying that Apple shouldn't fix this problem. I'm convinced they will and they will admit that they have a bug, sure. So be happy and continue using all the other joyful features of your iPhone.
I can't believe that I woke up to this problem today. I was soo very late for work, not to mention put me in a terrible mood. Apple should have at least informed people about this problem when they figured out this was happening. I never thought I would say this about my I Phone/Apple but, EPIC FAIL! Not Happy... I demand justice!
I'd agree with that. (basically that testing is essential, lots and lots of it, and this is what has been skimped).
It looks to me like all sorts of errors are being let through as a result of inadequate testing. It seems to me that Apple used to test stuff far more thoroughly than this with the result that errors didn't reach the public but were corrected before they saw it. Lately we've seen far too many reach the public and it's damaging badly public perception of their reliability.
