iPhone 4 alarm not working since 01.01.2011

apple u need to sort this out asap its disgraceful people are late for work, late for meetings etc. The kids are back at school soon how many children are going to be late. something so simple as an alarm which has been on mobile phones since i can remember is causing such a problem.

I am a pilot, and almost missed my flight this morning! I have tried everything to get the alarm to work, as I have another early flight tomorrow! Apple has let me down, I depended on simple things like an alarm clock to work, at least.

Thanks for the idea of setting a repeat alarm, that does work.

Oh no, that wouldn't be good enough for them...they want and need to have the UN Security Council act upon this "injustice." 🙂

I can't believe that this is a problem for apple. THANKS IPHONE...my husbands alarm didn't go off this morning so he was late for work...good thing his boss called 20 minutes after his shift started to tell him he was late? ***? Then 20 minutes later mine did not go off as well??? For such a great phone you would think such a simple app would work properly...unreal!

I'm a pilot also, I use three alarm clocks. I believe in backups.

I hvnt had a chance to read every single post but, my alarm also failed. I tried the following.

Manually changed my date/time setting from automatic. Changed d date to 1/3/11 and my alarm worked like usual.

Might b a weekn thing like a prvs poster mentioned (???)

Ok, it's not funny. It's 3.01.2011 and my alarm is stil don't work...
I use iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.2.1. Any help here?

Not fixed... Tried standard alarm at 00:03 on 03/01 on 3GS worked! Then set alarm on both iPhone 4 and 3GS both for 07:00 both failed latest os on both 😟

I tried using an existing non-recurring alarm and setting it for January 3, and it didn't work. Then I created a new non-recurring alarm for January 3, and that worked. So it looks like existing non-recurring alarms have just stopped working, and you need to create new alarms for January 3 and later.

(this is the sort of bug that should really have been caught by QA)

I have one alarm that is set for every day... I had no issues...

Up until last night the single alarm did not work... this morning, I have set 4 single alarms and all have worked OK...

My iPod Touch iOS4.2 now works as of 10am, Jan 3 in Europe (CET/GMT+1).

Didn't work this morning -> when Apple said that it would work again Jan 3, I guess they had to be more specific.

This is second time in two months we have suffered in Europe from bad calendar/alarm programming from Apple. I guess this is a good area for a New Years resolution for Apple programmers. Stating that " We had absolutely no way to prepare for 2011" really surprises me. I had guess already that 2010 would be followed by 2011 but I may be making assumptions.

I was also wondering about the twitter message "Until Apple issues an official fix for the iPhone alarm glitch, please do not open your iPhone's clock app. Doing so may void the warranty." ... is that a general statement? I guess most of their customers had to open the app to find out if the error was on their part for setting the alarm wrong?
