Canon MF4350d won't work with 10.6.5

Thanks for the feedback. Well, at one point it did show the Print/Scan buttons. However, neither is displayed now even though it shows up as a printer. I've attempted to reload Canon's software and no success with that.

Image Capture opens and displays the Canon Device. The only message I get is "Trying to open scanner session". The session does not complete with a successful connection.

I'm game if you guys have other solutions to try. Thanks!

Are you pressing the Scan button on the MF so that it shows USB Scanner?

Both items were reinstalled. I just deleted the complete canon folder under iMac/Libraries/Printers and did a complete reinstall. The goo news is the scanner button is back! Still no luck getting it to work. When I select "Scan" tab a new tab "Open Scanner" appears. When I select that a new window opens with the message "No scanner selected" although it does appear as a printer and scanner. Slow progress is being made...

I was brain washed by Windows for many years, (No longer, I'm awake now) and really like the iMac. But, I'm still challenged and enjoy learning about it. On another side note is there a way to capture images to post here?

...any suggestions always appreciated for the canon too!

Okay, have done some testing with an MF4350d and I can see the Scan tab is present in the Print & Fax pane with the printer proxy. However it would appear that the Open Scanner tab does not function. I also got the No Scanner Found message. But if I opened Image Capture I was able to see the MF in the Devices list and when selected an overview was performed. But it was imperative that the Scan button was pressed. If the Scan button is not pressed then an error message will appear.

Note that the Scan button being selected did not make the Open Scanner button function.

Yes, the Printer Scan button on the MF is selected and illuminated also, the small LCD window reads "scanning mode". When I press the Print button on the MF the MF Toolbox -Scan Function window appears. Yet it doesn't seem to do anything when I select from any menu the Toolbox offers.

With MF Toolbox, try opening the Save function. Here you can select what format to save the file as, where to save it, and what application if any opens after the file is saved. I chose to open Preview which worked fine after pressing the Start button on the MF.

There is also a green Start button within the Save menu of MF Toolbox. If you press this does the scanner start making a noise and then an image scanned?

When I press "Print" on the MF the MF Toolbox will appear. There are several items to select from: Mail, Save, PDF and Scan -1, Scan -2, Scan -3 and Scan -4. Regardless of which I select, none have any functionality including "Save".
