Audio sync issues with Apple TV

I'm having intermittent Audio sync issues with Apple TV. It happens using Netflix, renting movies from Apple, and streaming movies from my computer over the wireless network.

I've eliminated the wireless network as a problem by connecting the Apple TV directly to a wired router, the sync issues are still present.

It doesn't happen all the time. I would estimate that it happens 70% of the time. And like I said earlier, its intermittent. I played an episode of "The Office" and it worked great, no sync issues. I played the exact same episode 10 minuets later and the sync issues were back. This doesn't just happen with Netflix. It also has happened on two movies I rented from Apple.

I love the possibilities with Apple TV but these problems are unacceptable. At this point I'm thinking of returning it and being done with it until this is fixed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try setting the Dolby Digital to off and see if that helps

I am having this same problem. Anything occurring over wifi results in the audio sync being out. This includes Netflix, films streaming from another computer and films streaming from iTunes. The problem gets progressively larger in proportion to the length of the video. A trailer has no audio sync issue. A 2 hour film is completely out of sync to the point of being unwatchable. A 30 minute TV show is out of sync by 1 or 2 frames. Just noticable enough to be annoying. Even airplay from my itouch is about 1 frame out of sync.

I would use my apple TV alot more if it didn't have this problem. Right now I primarily use it to watch trailers, watch youtube videos and TV shows. For movies, I connect my itouch directly to the TV. For netflix, I use by XBox, which has no sync issues despite being on exactly the same wifi network.

I have checked my TV and unforunately there is no video delay function that I can find. But even if there were, it would be really inconvenient to have to change this setting every time I switched from my digital TV box or XBox to the Apple TV.

Anyone from Apple have a solution to this?
