How to Add to home screen ? On iPad

Hi I have the latest update on my iPad but when I touch the little box with the arrow NXT to address bar ,I don't get The Add to home screen selection so does anyone know how I do this now? I have searched the forum but can't find an answer THANKYOU

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I had the same issue on my iPhone 5S. The difference was that I don't have a lot of apps on my screen. Still, I deleted one just in case and the "add to homescreen" option appeared. So it isn't necessarily a problem of a full screen, more like an annoying bug.

Hi,

Tap Settings / Safari. Clear the History, Cookies, and Cache.

Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

Now tap the Safari icon and try, "Add to Home Screen".

HI,

Tap Settings / JavaScript. Make sure JavaScript is turned on.

Did you install a web app?

If you did, connect your iPad to your computer and sync without that app selected under the Apps tab in the menu.

Hi ,yes I had JavaScript ON so still can't sort it out. I'm on firmware 4.2.1 & they've removed the + symbol NXT to address bar in safari. So I don't know how to sort it out Thanks

Did you install a web app that may be blocking Safari ???

No one has removed the symbol on purpose. Mine works just fine.

hi .no i still dont no how to/ or installed any web apps coz i dont have a plus symbol ,apparently theyve changed it in firmare 4.2.1 so all i have is tiny box with an arrow coming out of it. So still cannot find how to ADD TO HOMESCREEN & HOW TO ADD A WEB APP to my ipad

What do you get? It should have a list with Add Bookmark, Add to Home Screen, Mail Link to This Page, Print.

That won't install apps.

You need to tap the App store icon

on your iPad in order to download and install apps.

Hi .yes i get the same as you but on a video tutorial it had a + symbol & you click that & the drop-down menu said those 3 and ADD TO HOME SCREEN but they have removed the + symbol now so thats why I dont know how to add to home screen anymore & what i mean by a web app is I have a FREE APP CALLED 'SPLICE" & when I load it up it says whatch the vid tutorials & a little youtube web app you can add appears & says tap on the arrow & add to home screen but i dont know how to get it on the screen?

Do you still have a + sign? It was replaced by a box with an arrow coming out.

You have already been told elsewhere how the + symbol is replaced by the box with the arrow coming out, right? Again I ask you, what exactly do you see when you tap it?

What i mean by a web app is

If I find a page on my ipad on safari ,usually if I wanted to save that page as a web app I could tap the + symbol then id get an option to ADD TO THE HOMESREEN ,I can do this on my iphone,no problem & the web app is looks like a normal app but is grey with an apple in middle & saves like an itunes app on screen OMG ,why did they remove the plus symbol? Wat a pain in the butt !
