Question

Help to convert 7z files please.

Hi.

Could someone please step me through how to convert 7z files to AAC for play in iTunes.

Sitting on my desktop I have the folder of 7z files, par2formac, Ez7z and XLD. But all I get is white noise.

Any help appreciated.

MacBook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.6.2)

7z is not an audio format. It is a zip format used to package a folder. You have to unpackage it with the program 7-zip to see what is inside.

If you are lucky it will contain some great tracks in a normal audio format.

Hi again Ed. Thanks for that explanation. There should be FLAC files inside. However, when I open the folder they are .par2 ... I understand this is a format that checks/repairs files but I can't move from there to FLAC or something I can work with.

You are the second person this week to ask about PAR2. They also are not audio files. I have never used them, but you can get information here: http://par2.net/

Where did this folder come from? I'm kind of wondering why the sender didn't think that just zipping a folder full of FLACs wouldn't be sufficient.

They are music files from a windows user. I have managed to get them to m4a by importing them into XLD as Raw Data but still just white noise in iTunes.

If it is a Windows user whom you know, ask him or her to simply put the FLACs in a folder and zip them.
