I've noticed several times now when searching web sites there is content that requires "adobe flash" or other adobe software. When I try to install it, I get a message saying something to the effect that Apple does not support Adobe software on IPad.
So, is there an App or something I can use on the Ipad to see video content or even photos from web sites that require "Flash" or other Adobe software?
I think it's pretty lousy that one of the big selling points of the Ipad is that it offers you a "full internet viewing experience" however I'm finding that it "DOES NOT".
Thank for insulting me. I really love how people get personal in these forums. I thought these forums were a place for people to learn and get help, but I guess maybe I should, as you say, go find my answers elsewhere, through books and articles.
Your right, I don't have an educated worldview of technology, quite frankly, I don't want one. I just want to know that when I buy technology, it works. Isn't that what I pay for?
I build houses for a living. When I agree to build someone's home, I don't get their money and then tell them to go figure out everything there is to know about home building and then decide if I built your house right or not. I don't have their house wired to only work with some blenders or televisions. They don't buy a Panasonic television only to find that when they get home to plug it in, their house only works with Sony TVs. "Oh, Mr. Jones, if you want your house to work with a Panasonic TV, I can do that, but I'll have to install an extra "thingamajiggy" on your electrical panel and then you'll be all set".
Good lord, why do people have to take things so literal sometimes. OK, STEVE JOBS DOES NOT WORK FOR MICROSOFT! I get it. But I think, I mean I may be mistaken, but didn't he have a lot to do with how it was set up or may even operate now? I guess maybe I should go read up on that too.
Thanks again! And yes, I do realize that Jobs and Gates are not responsible for everything!
And I hope, as you said, with the increasing popularity in "I" products that the market is changing. I certainly love my Mac and Apple products. I guess I may be getting a little greedy in expecting everything to work perfectly on every product I own.

Honestly, not everyone here is trying to insult you. If you interpreted my comment as such, I apologize. And frankly I can't disagree with what you are saying here. You're right, it SHOULD work that way. It SHOULD be a littel more like building a house. Not to say that's simple, but at least there are more or less consistant standards.
But it doesn't. Never has, and maybe never will. At least not 100%. There will be competing technologies. Typically, the market place will help iron those out (remember VHS vs Betamax?).
The iPad is a great device - one of the best technology purchases I think I have ever made. But it does have some trade offs. Obviously they are not as important to me as they are to you. What can I say?

Steve Jobs never worked for Microsoft. The only effect he ever had on its workings that of any competitor.
In a tech support forum, being precise and literal is essential. The facts and details are important to any kind of problem solving. Making assumptions about meaning can cause problems, such as misdiagnosing a problem or taking insult where none was given.
I don't build houses for a living, don't know a lot about it and would not come here and engage in a thread with you and talk about they are all wrong in how they go about home building.
And Steve Jobs never worked for Microsoft.
I do know that some houses in my area are built and wired for Brinks home alarm services. They don't work with ADT.
Actually, not so much insulted, I just think people get personal sometimes and that's not what these forums are for.
If you have something helpful and constructive to say, great. If all your going to do is try to belittle someone or make them feel inferior to you because they don't have as much knowledge as you do, then I would suggest not writing anything.
As I mentioned before, I come here for helpful insight and tips, not to have someone tell me I need to read more before I come here for help!
I did have something constructive to say, but you are the one in your post that said you did not know much about technology which is why I said I would forgo a longer response. I'm not sure what insights you can get regarding Flash other than the fact it is not available on iDevices.
I don't use it myself, but a colleague of mine does. He's noted that it feels sluggish when browsing Flash content.
I've found that I rarely need to see Flash-based video -- the tide is turning toward open standards, and I anticipate that by the end of 2011 it'll be rare to see web video presented in a Flash-only wrapper.
It actually has changed a lot since 2007 and I would imagine with the popularity of the iPad, released last year, it will change even more.
Didn't you return your iPad? If you did you have now graduated to troll status.
No one requires you to jump through hoops or give your money to Apple. Other tablets are on the market and after CES more will follow. Buy one that has Flash and happily surf the net.
