Mac App Store - No Credit Card

Hello,

I have been trying to figure out how the **** I'm supposed to accept the new T&C of the Mac App Store without a credit card. I do not and will not own a credit card but the option to select 'None' is not present in the Mac App Store.

Any Help? D:

Have you done anything in your iTunes account during this trouble with the App Store? If not, quit the App Store, open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store and view your account. I believe that there was a new User Agreement recently that may pop up. Just check in and out of a few things, like reset the warnings or such. Then Quit iTunes, open the App Store and see if you can progress into using the store without it asking you for more verification.

Chill bro, it was a joke!

😉

Folks get sooooo up tight because everything is not perfect on a new Apple roll out. It is the same with every new model of an old product, every new product and every new service. The wrinkles get ironed out eventually but no matter how much those of us who test for Apple try to find all of the bugs and insanity we cannot test everyone's individual kit. Which is why on inauguration day, and for a few days after, you may see more level 4 and 5 users than usual in the new forums trying to help sort stuff out.

YES!!! This solved it! *THIS IS THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM* Log out of iTunes, then login and it'll ask you to verify. Do so and there will be the option for "None" in Payment Methods. Then log out of the M.A.S. and log back in with the verified account and you can download free apps.

Thank you very much!!!

Oh my bad, I forgot I disabled almost everything in iTunes.

But now when I follow the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 , I get an error because I already have an Apple ID "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID"

And if I use my existing Apple ID account I have the same problem I face when I go to the MAS, there is no "None" option. The crux of this is that I never touched the iTunes Store before today.

Hopefully I don't have to resort to actually waiting for my debit card to arrive.

OK, Things are working now as expected. My problem was "insufficient acoount balance to complete this transaction" whereupon AppStore would promt me to enter CC information.

Apparently unknown to me, Apple was charging me $16.38 for an app listed for $14.99. since I redeemed a $15.00 card, obviously the transaction didn't go thru prompting the system to ask me for a credit card.

Instead I redeemed another $15 iTunes card, clicked to buy the app, and download and installation went without a hitch.

SUMMARY: I can purchase paid(or free) app's with iTunes cards only, no credit card required. Still not happy about paying $16.38 for an app listed as $14.99....

Same problem here - there is no "none" option if you have an apple id that has never been used in either store, and you then can't sign in without providing credit card details.

Shut down the Mac App Store (MAS) app and forget about it for a few minutes and then concentrate on the iTunes Store. Using iTunes, open your iTunes Store account using your Apple ID and configure it the way that you wish to use it; with or without a bank card, with iTunes gift cards or, if available, a PayPal account. After you have completely setup the iTunes account quit iTunes and return to the MAS. Using the MAS should now be the simple matter of verifying your account with no need to offer a bank card's information.
