App Store: "We could not complete your purchase"

"... can't be installed on your computer."

I get this error when trying to download an app from the store. What gives?

Mac OS X (10.6.5)

This fix hasn't worked for me - have reinstalled the 10.6.6 Combo Update twice repaired permissions but I still get the same issue. This is really starting to annoy me now!

I had this problem after a completely clean install of Mac OS X 10.6. Repairing permissions, deleting the App Store, reinstalling the combo updater, and other solutions suggested in this thread and others did not help at all.

Hi, this worked for me (after trying about everything else!) I deleted everything in /var/folders, I did and is downloading without a hickup, hopefully no major damage is done by doing this.

Hi,

I tried deleting contents of /var folder.

Did not work!!!

Just the message changed "we could not complet.... unknown error"
