Nano 6g volume limit

Is there anyway to increase the max volume of the nano? Ive set the volume limit to max but its still quite low. If i use it in the car and swap from my iphone to the nano the volume is roughly 50% lower than the iphone. My headphones etc work perfectly on my classic + iphone so i know theres no fault there.

thanks

???

In the EU there is a 83db cap already in place. With the amendment, it is now possible - with the health warning - to set it again to 100db (which is the cap in place for the rest of the World ... e.g. Texas)

Please note, that everyone complaining in this thread is experiencing the 83db cap .... they would be happy, if there would be the 100db in place instead - as in the US.

So before, it was a strict cap to 85'/83db. Now:

"There is the possibility however for the user to choose to override the limit so that the sound level can be increased up to a maximum of 100 dBA. In this case the user has to be provided with warnings about the risks which are repeated following each 20 hours of listening time."

Or do you still think, that I am wrong.

There was a 100 dB cap in place, there has never been an 83 dB cap. If you do some searching here you will find posts from last year discussing the impending 85 dB cap.

There is no cap anywhere else, certainly not one in Texas. You are wrong. Apple can continue to use the current former dB limit should they choose but I doubt they will.

The article you posted was incorrect and they apparently cannot read a meter either, but you need an external device connected to the iPad to measure correctly anyway. Your post was deleted because it reference a site and methodology that required jailbreaking.

You are correct that there has been a limit on MP3 players, it was 100dB. It is now 85dB. If you want it changed you will need to get your government representatives to change it.

Thanks - started to seriously doubt my reading skills ;-)

I just hope for one of the following:

1) Someone finds a fix for the volume "issue" on Ipod Nano´s.

2) Apple brings out a new Ipod Nano soon (=> justifying a replacement, which I would then order in the U.S.)

See, I would not care at all about jailbreaks etc. .... but because of the volume cap, I have to say, it is tempting to install on all other devices.

Cheers

Michael

P.S.: Still working on the government representatives ;-) .... will meet with one soon: he wants to know what an Ipod Nano is ;-)
