Nano 6g volume limit

Is there anyway to increase the max volume of the nano? Ive set the volume limit to max but its still quite low. If i use it in the car and swap from my iphone to the nano the volume is roughly 50% lower than the iphone. My headphones etc work perfectly on my classic + iphone so i know theres no fault there.

thanks

Which iPhone do you have? I'm not sure that smartphones are even covered by the volume cap, or if they are it is a recent thing. iPods have been subject to this EU regulation for some time. I agree you should be able to choose, you have the right to end up with diminished hearing capacity like all of us not subject to the EU cap.

I am posting for the first time, and hope I am not teaching anyone to suck eggs, but the solution to this problem that I use is to increase the volume level of the song as you can't change the settings on the Ipod. Do this:

Open Itunes, don't connect your Ipod.
Highlight the song(s)you want louder
Open File on the toolbar
Select Get Info
Select Options
Move the volume adjustment slider, it's normally set to 50%, to a higher level. Experiment till you get the level you need.
Click OK
Connect and Sync your Ipod.

This works for me and if you need it any louder after doing this you should get a hearing check.

I can't comment on the actual db limits and don't understand what a "custom sound check" is but I do know that if you use the method I posted your music will be very loud. It also works on old and new tracks so I don't understand the point you are making about older recordings. As I also said, if you need it louder than this get your hearing checked or make an appointment at the hearing clinic as you will soon need treatment.

Seriously, this does work and I would imagine that for most people this all the volume increase they will need.
