Cannot Sign In to Mac App Store - Tried Every Way Possible & No Progress.

I'm so disappointed that Apple has left so many of us hanging like this. I've submitted several support inquiries online exactly as their site instructed me to & received no response. Not even an automated one!

Here's what I sent to their Support & if any of you can help me out, I'd be forever grateful:
--

I'm a very savvy and technical user who is also on your iOS & Mac Development Program.

Anyways, I downloaded & installed the 10.6.6 Combo Update on my work iMac & had no issues accessing the Mac App Store.

I used the exact same Combo Update on my home iMac & had no errors, however, when I launch the Mac App Store, I can click anything and get a response BESIDES Sign In, Account or BUY NOW.

For whatever reason, my home iMac won't let me log into my Apple ID (please don't ask me to reset my password or something try to reboot; trust me, I wouldn't be writing you if it wasn't serious. I tried everything, including a reinstall of the 10.6.6 update. Nothing changes the fact that it won't give me the sign in dialog where I'd type my Username & Password).

PLEASE HELP - I really want to anxiously start buying some apps & cannot log into this store no matter what I try. I'm convinced it's absolutely a software bug.

Do you perhaps have an INDIVIDUAL INSTALLER of the Mac App Store that I can download? Please don't tell me to redownload the combo update. I did three times already.

Also, both the Mac App Store on my work & home iMacs read Version 1.0 (54) - so why would one work & the other not work???? I'm convinced that there's a small yet critical bug here & that I'm not the only one having this issue. It's really upsetting that Apple released such poortly tested software that apparently has so many people unable to use it.

I hope that you can help & make this work for me ASAP.

Please respond ASAP - I really hope someone actually reads this issue & sends me a useful reply, and not some canned message.

Thank you.

In my case, not even it appears the screen after MAS, nothing happens when I make click in connecting, and never appeared the icon of MAS in my dock after the update, I had it to find in the folder applications. In my macbook 13” thats appeared in dock after the update and works perfectly.

It could be due to having a version of developer of Mac OS X 10.6.6 before applying to the stand for casks update? At the moment I have the version with developer MAS and follows in the same problem.

I don't understand so that it happens this 😟

I've this problem on my iMac. The mac os_x_10.6.6_build_10j537_combo_update_reversioner.dmg was installed on it previously. I removed it and install the official 10.6.6 combo update. And i can't "sign in" on this computer.

I've MacBook Air and Mac mini with Mac OS X 10.6.5. I updated them to the 10.6.6 combo and the Mac App Store app works fine on them. I signed in and bought iMovie, iPhoto and Twitter w/o any problem.

I guess the problem is that the beta 10.6.6. update was previously installed on my iMac.

hi,
had the same issue, and found a solution here in the threads..

have a look in system/Library/Frameworks, if you find there a commercial.framework ( think it was the name..) delete it, if you are a developer, and had installed the first developer update to develop mac_apps , this framework is installed)
after removing and updateing with the combo, al is working fine.

After emailing apple about this issue I got this reply:

Dina here again, from the iTunes Store. Thank you for clarifying that you are attempting to sign into the Mac App Store.

I have done some further research and found an article that should help you:

Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3638
Symptoms
When you attempt to sign in to the Mac App Store, the "Sign in to download from the App Store" sheet may not appear
Even if the sign in sheet is visible, text you type may not appear in the Apple ID or password fields

Products Affected
Mac OS X 10.6.6, Mac App Store
Resolution
Third-party software that alters your system, such as FruitMenu or APE (Application Enhancer), may cause these issues.

Disable or remove the third-party software.

Additional Information
If the issue persists after removing the third-party software, reinstall Mac OS X v10.6 from your original install media, followed by installing all updates available from Software Updates.

add me to the club. nothing happens when i click sign-in, no window even pops up behind the MAS window.

i'm not a dev, and don't have the commercial.framework, nor do I have FruitMenu or APE installed.

this is so frustrating! i've been dying to explore the app store and i can't do anything at this point!

EDIT: although i haven't tried reinstalling the 10.6.6 update itself (even though it doesn't look like that's a valid solution). can someone tell me how to reinstall the combo update/uninstall the MAS and reinstall it?
