Jan 9, 2011 11:10 AM in response to Tom Geweckeby Joei005,Thanks for your suggestion, Tom.
I tried it but it doesn't seem to solve the problem I'm trying to solve.
I went to monster.com where it asks you to upload a file. The browse button for uploading the resume is not active so I can't upload a file.
I hope that there is some solution since this seems to be a major limitation for my purposes.
Thanks, again,

Jan 9, 2011 11:14 AM in response to Joei005by dhaun,Safari won't let you upload files but some of the alternate browsers will. I've used iCab Mobile to upload photos to Flickr (which is not possible with Safari). Don't know about monster.com, though ... -
Jan 9, 2011 11:23 AM in response to Joei005by pa-bucktail,Goodreader does uploads to a FTP site...easy!

Feb 2, 2011 12:47 AM in response to Joei005by favored nation,No solution but agree that this is a need for the iPad to be a more effective business tool. Also could not find a way to get good reader to work for the type of problem you mention that I am struggling with as well. -
Feb 2, 2011 6:28 AM in response to favored nationby Michael Morgan1,The iPad and iOS lack a file handling system. As such, there's no way to hit a Browse button on some external site, drill down I to your iPad's file structure, and start a file transfer. This are all OS functions that just don't exist on mobile devices.
I think the only short term solution is to work from the other end; get another way to move files around by working with the vendor and pointing out that his website design doesn't support mobile, touchscreen devices. I think they'll change quickly, and probably provide so e sort of an interim solution also. -
Apr 20, 2011 9:09 PM in response to Joei005by RandomCrap,It's really unfortunate that Apple hasn't fixed this missing feature in, what, three years? Our customers upload spreadsheets to our web site, and when asked why upload doesn't work on the iPad I have to explain that it's a limitation of IOS. And if they want a mobile device which does this, they should look at Android (which finally got full upload capability in v2.2).

Feb 1, 2012 10:26 PM in response to Joei005by cpny80,I had the same complaint. I actually stopped using my laptop for the iPad. It was frustrating having to go to the laptop just to upload a resume to career builder. I just downloaded iCab browser in the app store. I sent my resume to an external email account and signed in. You need to open the email through the iCab browser and download the file there. ICab has its own download drop box. I was able to them go to career builder and upload a resume without a problem. It may be a pain to start emailing files to yourself just to import them into the app but it's worth it not having to either copy and paste or go back to your laptop. Hope that helps and you found a job.
