need help..
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I recently got a new IPod touch(4th generation).it was working normaly and then i was sitting on the couch today and had just put it down after playing Tap Tap Revenge 4 and when i went to press the home button(circle one)it wouldent turn on.I figured it had died so i pluged it in, i left it to charge and went and played a bored game with my family. After the game ended i went to see if it was charging and it was just a black screen.I assumed it might have been the plug that i plugged it into so i moved it to another plug and it still wouldent turn on!so im offically out of ideas of what to try!Any thoughts?

exactly the same thing had happend to me really annoying me plus i have held the circle button like like 30 seconds like 5 times, HELP!
actually just fixed mine, hold the circle button and the top button together for 10 second and take your finger of the top button while keeping your finger on the circle button and keep holding for another 5 seconds great and worked for me!
im a bit concerned if this is a hardware problem and it just might re-occur ..if its something like a factory defect..do you think apple has an international warranty..will they change the item ?
Try charging the iPod touch for 10 minutes or more, by connecting the iPod to your computer (not your keyboard) using the included USB cable or to an Apple USB power adapter.
Note: iPod touch cannot be charged with a FireWire power adapter or FireWire-based car charger. If iPod touch is connected to a computer that’s turned off or in sleep or standby mode, the iPod touch battery may drain instead of charge.
Important: If iPod touch is very low on power, it may display one of the following low-battery images indicating that iPod touch needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it. If iPod touch is extremely low on power, the display may be blank for up to two minutes before one of the low-battery images appears.
While connected to a power source, try to reset the iPod touch. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.
If the iPod touch still doesn't power on, then restore in recovery mode.
Finally, check to see if the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) in the headphone jack is activated. Learn more about LCIs.

mine went off 2day in school when my friend was holding it nxt 2 me then the teacher was coming so he put it under his book but it wouldnt turn on AT ALL but durring lunch i had to hold both butons down for about a minute then it turned on but if that doesnt work i consider calling the apple number to get it replaced if u have warranty my other freidn he has the same ipod touch 4th gen and he said every ipod has a warranty with apple but i dont know so just try holding both buttons
i did the hold both buttons for ten seconds then the home button for another 5 seconds and it would say its plugged in to my computer but wouldn't charge and it had me add a new software update and deleted all my apps and what not so does any one have any advice for the uninstall-ed apps?
I have the exact same problem. Today my ipod shut itself off shortly after I synchronized it with itunes. It wouldnt come back on. Now itunes is telling me that my ipod is in Restore Mode, for some reason. Its having me update the software for the ipod (which I have done three times now) it gets to the end of the download (30-40 minutes) and then tells me the connection timed out, ends the whole process. And my ipod is still dead. Ive only had the device for two or three days and Im taking it back tomorrow.
My Iod is has just done exactly the same 😟 iv got to restore mine i thought it had gone aswell but after reading this post my ipod is up and running and i know wht to do now if it does it again so thank you 🙂
My IPod wont turn on!
