Two DVI Monitors via mini Display Port

Hello guys,

I have a MacBook Pro (July 2009), with mini Display Port. It is in my intentions to buy two dell monitors (most probably the following models: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=bsd&cs=ukbsd t1&sku=421265&~ck=bncat&~bk=gr:CategoryRec_defaultMonitor,g:NextStep,rk:). However, which adaptor should I buy? What would be the maximum resolution through the adaptor?

Many thanks!

Yes definitely, there is an Atlona adapter that would provide the mirroring, but in your case I would use the Displayport adapter mentioned above. In addition to that adapter you are going to need to have a Mini Displayport male to Displayport Male cable: <http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-to-Displayport-Ada pter-Cable.html> as well as 2 Mini Displayport female to Displayport Male cables: <http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-Female-to-Displayp ort-Male-Adapter-Cable.html>.

I know this seems complicated but it actually will be a very nice solution once you are all said and done. I don't think there is really any other way to do this with a single video output laptop. If you had a desktop buying a dual video output video card would be a simpler solution.

I encourage you to buy the necessary adapters and cables directly from Matrox, even though they will probably cost considerably more than others you could buy elsewhere. If you do that, Matrox will be more clearly obliged to help you if you have any trouble with your setup, as it will be responsible for the quality of the cables as well as the box.
