Epson 2450 Scanner Not Working

On first attempt my Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner is not working with 10.6.6. It shows up under USB Hardware. Is it not supported?

My name is Syd and I work for Epson America, Inc.

The driver posted on epson.com is version 2.77A, which is Power PC based.
We have received calls that the driver does work with MAC 10.6 operating system.

Please try the following:
- Remove USB cable from the scanner
- Remove the existing scanner drive
- Download and install the Epson utility ver. 2.77A
- If there are any other scanner or all-in-one units installed, please remove the drivers
- reconnect the USB cable to scanner
- launch Epson Scan from hard drive/applications/Epson

Hope this helps,

Syd

I am having an identical problem. I have disconnected and reconnected my cables, uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled (2.77A) to no avail.

Sometimes the scan software comes up as expected and other times it just hangs, and after about 3 minutes displays the error message: "Can not properly communicate with scanner. Make sure the scanner is on, properly connected, and properly setup to scan. If using sa SCSI connector then restart your computer."

Is the "ICA Scanner Driver v5.3.0 for Image Capture" also required?

I am using a USB connection since my firewire port is tied-up with another device. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
