Hi, Francois.
Hopefully, 6+ years later, you've stumbled across the solution. I'm sure Apple will have redesigned the feature at some point but, currently, you can hide a purchase by right clicking in the area surrounding the open/install button (see image). Fingers crossed this sorts you out!
Cheers,
John.
Little late but you can hide the purchased apps in the app store. Not completely delete them.
I lent my mac to a student who came to work for us over an internship. He installed a bunch of utilities, some I want to have some I want to remove.
I can not remove any and I can not update any either... I deleted the apps from my app folder but in the app store they still show with update button. If I try to update it says login with the other account...
I simply want to remove and reinstall under my own account... impossible...
It is very easy to permanently delete all apps on the iPad3. Go to settings, then general, then usage, then storage. Under storage, click on "show all apps". Then click om the app(s) you want to delete. The word "delete" will appear there. Apple DOES have a delete apps function, it is simply hidden and can be found under my steps above. Cheers!
That only removes the apps from the ipad's storage, not inside the userid's app store profile.
I find all these replies really funny. Yes, it can be done. All you need to do is go to the MAC APP STORE, then right click on the icon and you will see the HIDE option. Ok, you may say this doesn't delete it but I prefer to have a HIDE option where it's gone anyway but you can separately go to the hidden apps list at a later date. Enjoy!
. . .and yes, I know, an additional option to DELETE all together would be nice, but hey, it's apple, they're evil. Even Apple loves have to admit it.
Since the entire discussion is about deleting and not hiding, which has been said quite extensively, I'm wondering why you find the replies funny?
I'm sure he didn't mean funny as in "ha ha", but more so that it took 4 pages of almost entirely different solutions -- many of which didn't work due to iTunes's (infuriatingly) constantly changing interface which may not have applied depending on version.
Finally, and after poring through the pages, I found kairos' to be simple and quick...and it worked.
Hi I've got the same problem on my iPhone, I wouldn't mind the hide option cos to be honest don't think they'll come up with a permanate solution to this lol!! Anyways, my q is that, would I be able to hide or delete apps from App Store purchased list on my iphone5
You can go into the purchases tab and right click on the app and select "Hide Purchase.." that's about it though.
I came across this and it worked.

Anyone find out how to delete, not just hide, Apps from history?
hig70's suggestion does not work.
You can never delete purchases from the purchase history. You can only hide them. You can't not have bought content from the iTunes/Mac App stores that you bought, that would be to change historical fact.
