Hi, Francois.

Hopefully, 6+ years later, you've stumbled across the solution. I'm sure Apple will have redesigned the feature at some point but, currently, you can hide a purchase by right clicking in the area surrounding the open/install button (see image). Fingers crossed this sorts you out!

Cheers,

John.

I lent my mac to a student who came to work for us over an internship. He installed a bunch of utilities, some I want to have some I want to remove.

I can not remove any and I can not update any either... I deleted the apps from my app folder but in the app store they still show with update button. If I try to update it says login with the other account...

I simply want to remove and reinstall under my own account... impossible...

It is very easy to permanently delete all apps on the iPad3. Go to settings, then general, then usage, then storage. Under storage, click on "show all apps". Then click om the app(s) you want to delete. The word "delete" will appear there. Apple DOES have a delete apps function, it is simply hidden and can be found under my steps above. Cheers!

I find all these replies really funny. Yes, it can be done. All you need to do is go to the MAC APP STORE, then right click on the icon and you will see the HIDE option. Ok, you may say this doesn't delete it but I prefer to have a HIDE option where it's gone anyway but you can separately go to the hidden apps list at a later date. Enjoy!

I'm sure he didn't mean funny as in "ha ha", but more so that it took 4 pages of almost entirely different solutions -- many of which didn't work due to iTunes's (infuriatingly) constantly changing interface which may not have applied depending on version.

Finally, and after poring through the pages, I found kairos' to be simple and quick...and it worked.
