Can't find or launch itunes 10 after installation

Hi, have a three month old Asus with Windows 7 64 bit. My son has just bought an ipod touch. I seem to be able to download and install itunes 10 (at least that is what it says) but only Quicktime appears on the desktop. Have read various threads here and elsewhere but nothing seems to work. Is it an installation or launch problem or something else? Ideas much appreciated.

All a bit of a mystery although one of the error messages suggests that the installer thought you had the 32 bit version rather than the 64 bit versions.

"Ce programme d’installation de iTunes est prévu pour l’édition 32 bits de Windows. Veuillez télécharger et installer le programme d’installation de iTunes pour la version 64 bits."

But you did have the iTunes64setup.exe?
Is it possible that there was an old wrong version lurking in your PC that was somehow interfering?
