iWeb's not going away is it?

I have my work portfolio on iWeb, and a few other sites and am about to start another site, and wanted to check something:

I read somewhere about there not being recent updates for iWeb, and wanted to make sure that nothing drastic is changing, basically that iWeb is still going strong and will be around for a good long time.

Anybody know the current iWeb story? Thanks.

Yes if you have Time Machine set to backup your home folder. iWeb keeps all of the files needed to create the site in a package titled Domain.sites2 which is located in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.

Regarding iWeb going away. Just because it didn't get updated this time around it doesn't mean it will be dropped. Apple has too much invested in the MobileMe concept of which iWeb is a major player.

Maybe Apple is working on a pro version of iWeb or it's just taking longer to incorporate all of the features users requested. And there were a lot requested.

With iWeb 09 (Version 3) it can be used to publish to any server of your choice.

There is also another editor that seems to work very well: WebAcappella. You can give a look at it here: http://www.webacappella.fr/crbst0en.html
I've downloaded and tried the free version and was really impressed. Unlike RapidWeaver, WebAcappella is a true WYSIWYG editor, thus very close to iWeb. It is just as easy to use (drag and drop). Also, it has many many features like native support for flash files, rollovers, eBusiness, html5, CSS, dynamic menu creation, buttons, search engines optimization and more... WebAcappella also seems to get along with IE better than iWeb does.
