Proxy exceptions on safari / iPhone-iPad config utility

Is it possible to setup an 'exception to proxy' in either Safari or via the iPhone-iPad configuration Utility?

I can have either everything proxied or nothing proxied using the wi-fi networks setting for my connection, unfortunately as this is a corporate connection, I have to keep switching the http proxy setting from manual to off.

iPad / iPhone, iOS 4, *

Hi Arch,

The proxy.pac file should be placed on a web server that you can see internally, I.E. somewhere on your intranet or on a webserver you can resolve internally.

You should be able to view the file via your safari browser. E.G. http://www.mycompanywebsite.com/proxy.pac

Once you can view this file you add the path to the following:-

At the bottom section of your network setup

Settings -> Wi-Fi -><select your SSID>
Set the HTTP Proxy to Auto and select the path to your PAC file. (http://www.mycompanywebsite.com/proxy.pac)

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

in many large companies is simply not possible to place a pac in an internal web server. Also , some iphone/ipad applications simply bypass the proxy settings. In my opinion both things must be changed to have succesful iPad deployments in the corporate environment... particularly if it doesn't come top-down... In Android was impossible to set up a proxy, but now in 4.X is not only possible, but has the same capabilities as windows!

Let's keeping pushing Apple to add this functionality in the next iOS release!
