Motorola Finiti Bluetooth

Received a Motorola Finiti as a late Christmas gift. Fits great, sounds great, happy with the range, nice controls. Would be very happy but...

If I turn the headset off while the phone is in any app (including the phone app!) the headset appears to crash. It wont turn on or off, wont sync or pair, makes no sounds, the indicator lights are dark, etc. The only way I have found to restore life is to plug it back into the charger. Instant gratification.

Motorola says that this is not happening or that it must be that particular unit. Apple support said there are other reports of similar issues though I can't find any on here.

Has anyone else had the same problem? Has anyone found a better work-around than plugging in to reset (or leaving it on - seems like a waste of battery, or remembering to be out of all apps before turning it off - not sure I'm that smart!)?

Somebody suggested it might be a compatibility issue with the new text-to-speak capability that the motorola headsets now offer?

Planning to take it back to store and trying another unit of the same model while in the store but hoping for feedback first.

Anyone have good experience with another model they recommend?

no, this has happened to me too. I'm debating on whether or not to return this but this is one of the best bluetooth headsets on the market today. The only other bluetooth I know of that announces caller ID names is the blue ant Q2 but I've seen the earpiece on those break easily after only a few months of usage. Before I owned the fniti I had the jawbone icon which looks cool but it doesn't announce the caller ID names or have the ability to answer calls handsfree.

I think I'm just gonna keep my bluetooth for another week or so but if it keeps crashing on me I'm probably just gonna return it and wait for the next wave of headsets to come on the market.

I have had to exchange my Finiti twice and all three models have had the same problem you are referring to. At some point they just won't power on, only way I have been able to correct it is by plugging it into charger and unplugging it. All bluetooth headsets suck, technology is not keeping up. I am also experiencing dropped pairing with the iPhone 4 all the time. I really wish this thing worked because it is my favorite earpeice on the market, the only one I know of that actually stays in your ear in a comfortable yet snug manner.
