OpenDNS keeps redirecting sites I want to open

This started a couple of days ago. First it wouldn't let me open Facebook or Meetup and redirected me to a "This domain is blocked" OpenDNS guide page. Not only was it doing it on Safari, but on Firefox as well. I turned off my modem for a bit, then was able to locate the pages once I turned it back on. Now it's happening again with other sites.

Is this an internet provider issue or a Mac issue? What the heck is OpenDNS anyway? I hate getting redirected to sites I didn't ask for! How can I prevent OpenDNS from blocking my sites?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), DSL

Hi,

OpenDNS should help prevent redirects.

Make sure you have the *settings correct* in System Preferences / Network - Advanced -DNS

Use only these numbers.

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

More about OpenDNS here: http://www.opendns.com/start/

The numbers above are for the Basic / Free plan.

This could be more of a cookies issue, then redirects.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Delete any cookies for sites you have problems accessing.

Quit Safari (Command + Q) then relaunch Safari.

I will try those in a bit. These are the #'s I have currently:
10.128.5.41, 10.129.177.17, 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
What do those refer to?

Delete those numbers. Then restart your Mac.

I Googled those numbers. No returns. I have no idea where those are from.

The 208 numbers are OpenDNS which I posted a link to previously in this thread for you. It adds security, it's free, and includes anti phishing filters.

It prevents your ISP from re directing your searches.
