Phishing Apple Accounts from appleid@id.apple.com

Watch out. Got this obvious phishing scam today trying to access my apple account. What worries me is that they had the AppleID correct. This came from Apple <appleid@id.apple.com>

Dear ,

I have received an email from appleid@id.apple.com saying

" Dear (******************)

You recently initiated a password reset for your Apple ID. To complete the process, click the link below.

Reset now >

This link will expire three hours after this email was sent.

If you didn’t make this request, it's likely that another user has entered your email address by mistake and your account is still secure. If you believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account, you can reset your password at My Apple ID.

The link is to Iforgot, however I have not asked for a change. However I changed my password believing it was legit, is this a real alert from apple?

You should NEVER receive an email with a link to reset your password in order to confirm a password reset that you have already performed. This is a phishing scam. When you reset your password this is the legitimate Apple message that you should see and you will receive it very quickly after you perform the reset:

Dear____:

The password for your Apple ID (your email address in parenthesis) has been successfully reset.

If you didn't make thia change or you believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account go to iforgot.apple.com to reset your password immediately. Then sign into My Apple ID to review and update your security settings.

You should NEVER see in the email a link to reset your password in order to confirm it.
