Lost Ipod

Noooo ive just lost my new ipod touch.It is locked with a pin but was wondering how easy is it for someone to gain access to it and should i close my email/apple accounts etc to be safe as these would all be accessable from it?

You should at the least change the password on any accounts that were accessible from the iPod, you don't necessarily need to cancel them.

The ipod stays logged in to Facebook and email accounts all the time so will changing the passwords on these accounts stop the ipod from being able to log in?

yes changing the password will stop the ipod from automatically logging in AGAIN.
so change the passwords as quick as possible and check for any unusual activity on these accounts
