Apple ID in South Africa

Hello
I got an iPod yesterday and am trying to create an apple ID. I live in south Africa and when I get to the part where you have to put in your bank details it says that I haven't put in the correct infomation.
I am trying to use my FNB debit card. I also don't want a free account as I would like to purchase apps.
Can anyone give suggestions how to create a paying account?
Thanks
Luke

Hi and welcome Luke....

You can purchase apps for an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch from the iTunes store, but this forum is for apps for the Mac OS X.

Check out the FAQ's here for help with an Apple ID.

And more support here for contacting Apple Support.

Hopefully you can get it straightened out soon.

Hey

Well You can't create a ZA account when you're viewing the Uk or US stores. Check you're on the ZA store first, by switching countries....

Also, the ZA store might allows a credit card purchase, but you cannot buy any games (even on the Mac Appstore, for the other guys), since Apple doesn't allow games in South Africa, so you cannot access Game Centre Achievments too). In order to get Music, Games, you'll have to find a friend overseas who will be willing to help you setup a UK/US account. Gifts from friends isn't illegal.
