B/W to fade to color

Question

B/W to fade to color

Hopefully this will be an easy question to answer.

I have the lastest version on iMovie and was wondering if i can start the movie off in B/W and then fade into color? is there a way to do it in iMovie or is there a plug-in?

You can use the video effects to make black and white. There is no fade to color that I know of, but you could simulate it by going through Sepia, Old Film, and some of the other effects, or by playing with the color sliders on the Video Adjustments tab of the Inspector.

The Effects are located on the Clip tab of the Inspector.

There are no plugins for iMovie. You could split the clip, make one part B&W and then cross dissolve between the two.
