can't "Archive" a "SENT" mailbox?

h'lo all,
I've created a new Mail acct., which - as expected - created new "Inbox", "Sent", "Trash", etc. mailboxes. I wanted to Archive the old "Sent" mailbox before deleting the old acct.
But I select the old "Sent" mailbox (which is full of sent emails), go Archive and the result is an icon on my desktop "Sent Messages.mbox" which contains two items; mbox (of Zero Kb) and Table ofContents (of 4Kb), i.e. empty.
I've tried Selecting all of the emails in the Sent box and not selecting any of them, but it doesn't make any difference.
Thoughts?

Hi,

Works here, with only selecting the mailbox. Within the xxxx.mbox folder, the mbox file has the content. This form of mailbox archive is not the same structure as Mail 4.x uses, but an older form that would have to be imported back into Mail to open. But it should be working.

Is the Sent mailbox associated with a POP account, or IMAP?

Two other choices. 1) Click on Mailbox in the menubar, and select New Mailbox -- make sure it is an On My Mac mailbox (same as 1st level folder in Mail). In the original Sent mailbox, select all messages, click on Messages in the menubar, select Copy To or Move To and select the new mailbox you just created.

2) Select the messages as above, but use Copy To or Move To and select the new accounts Sent mailbox -- probably do this only if the new account is POP.

More info needed as to why the Archive is not working for you will be needed.
