TiVo App - WiFi connectivity issues?

Looking for a solution to a problem that I am having and that, based on the reviews for this app in the iTunes store, many other folks are having, with the new TiVo app.

The problem is that when the app goes to connect to the TiVo box, the iPad loses WiFi connectivity (the little WiFi icon at the top of the page disappears). I don't get it back until I go into the iPad settings app and reselect my network.

Note that several other DVR remote control apps work correctly; it's only the new TiVo app that is causing the problem.

For me, issue went away when I moved my wireless network from AT&T's 2WIRE Residential Gateway to an Apple Airport Extreme. When I looked at the Wireless LAN stats on the 2WIRE RG, it showed a bunch of transmit errors whenever I used the TiVo app, ending in the iPad dropping the WiFi connection.

Moving to the Airport Extreme fixed the dropped connection, but the TiVo app remains unusably slow as a remote control.

Thanks. Not really an option for me - I have a Belkin N1 Vision and am not going to purchase other routers just in case one might get this working.

Do you know how the 2Wire was set up? I'm using b gn mode, channel 6, and 20MHz+40MHz. Do any of those strike you as areas where your 2Wire and Aiport are different and so might be worth it for me to change?
