Quicken 2011 for Mac in App Store?
Thanks
Gordon
How is quickbooks 2011 different from Quicken 2007? I have not gone near quicken essentials as I read many reviews that it was not an update or upgrade to quicken 2007. So is quickbooks 2011 a different animal as well?

Quicken is more for personal finances. Quickbooks is for running a business.
The following is specifically for the Windows versions (since the multiple versions of Quicken have features that overlap Quickbooks,) but should be close enough for your question
"What are the differences between QuickBooks or Quicken and which one should I buy? "
Thank you for this link. I can see quickbooks is way more than I need.
I may well go with ibank but, to be honest, I have had SO much change and upgrade in my life recently, work and home, that I sure wish intuit had chosen to keep quicken for the mac up to date and fully functioning so I did not have to change this TOO!

Don't be "fooled" by the new app now being hyped on The App Store - "Quicken Essentials for Mac." I'm surprised that even let that in the store. Intuit abandoned Macs years ago. This is just the same version of Essentials introduced a couple of years ago. It is NOT Quicken. Essentials also will not import QIF files.
As for iBank, it's a good "replacement" if all you're looking for is a Check Ledger. It imported all of my files without a hitch.
One caveat: In the manual it mentions using DropBox as a Backup location. I now have a corrupted file as a result of using DropBox and the Tech Support person highly recommends "not using DropBox."
Hope this helps.
Quicken Essentials for Mac is a decent program. It is not a $50 program, but neither is iBank which I had been using. It is not as robust as the Windows version and it is quite inappropriate for them charge $50 for it.
Look online rather than the Mac App Store for this one. You can buy it as a digital download from Amazon for under $20. Or, I just found this website (don't know anything about them, seems legit) selling it for $14 -- including free shipping.

Intuit has apparently finally madegood on its promise to create a Lion compatible Quicken 2007 version. I can be purchased for download @http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
There's now an update of "Quicken2007S" to version 16.1.1. It fixes a list of things, but I wasn't experiencing any of those problems, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to the list.
