Is there any way to mute email / text alerts during set periods (sleep?)

Hi,

I usually leave my iPhone charging next to my bed at night, but I'd like to know if there's any way to mute the text / email alerts during set periods (such as 11pm - 7am - ie while I'm asleep).

I'd like to know if there is more than just the standard Mute button on the side of the phone (the vibrations still cause noise on a bedside table).

If there isn't a downtime solution - maybe this could make a good app? (perhaps somebody has already written this as an app - does anyone know what it's called?)

thanks!

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.1

No.

You can turn it off in settings.

Apps don't have access to the iphone core functions.

Have a look at the manual:

Find a different place to charge your phone. Keeping it near your head while sleeping at night isn't a great idea anyways.

You can always turn off the vibrate function and put it on mute.
Or simply leave it in another room.

Unfortunately the only way to get the functionality you want would be for Apple to offer that feature in the iOS. The API's required to control that functionality are not available to developers.
