Turn off Email at night on iphone

I would like to be able to schedule times to turn off my email notifications on my iphone. Either by not making any noise/vibration or just not retrieving them.

I want my phone to ring at night, but don't want to be disturbed or even know about emails after work.

Is there a way to do this. Say from 7pm to 7am for my phone not to retrieve any emails. I think if would be a very popular function as many people don't want emails after work. Most can wait until the morning.

Thank you.

iphone, iPhone OS 3.1.3

nws996 hit it right on the head... we need to be able to silence ONE mail account separately from the other mail accounts. Android has this feature. Some of us have work & personal mail boxes. When we're off the clock, we don't want to be bombarded by work emails, but we still want to get our personal emails and phone calls, so DND is not an option. Sure, you can always change the ringtone/notification alert for just that mailbox, but that's too many steps every day. It's a crying shame that this post IS 6 years old and STILL no improvement. At the VERY LEAST apple could allow programs like IFTTT to make these changes for you. You could create a button widget that does all of this for you with a single click.... but no.... apple won't let ANY app access to the phone settings, which is enormously frustrating, esp for us old Android users that are used to having FULL functionality of IFTTT.
And the reason we post to user forums instead of just going directly to Apple is; 1. Most of the time, there is a work around and other users can help you learn. 2. Who ever posted to Apple directly and got positive outcome?? anyone?

Hi delapa,

you have to options. you can go into your settings select notifications, scroll to mail icon and turn off all sounds, banners, alerts, and badges when you go to bed at night (remember to turn back on). Or select Do Not Disturb (remember to turn off), choose Manual to turn on and that will disable calls and alerts to be silenced, then choose if you want calls to be allowed from certain groups like All Contacts, Family, Favorites, or from Everyone.

+The OP was asking about a separate "do not disturb" feature for email.

However I read the indication work. And am partly assuming this to concern work emails only - and work calls- and work text ... not personal

Unbelievable. I was going to post the same question: so iOs does not feature a simple setting to tell "please let me sleep all days from hour X to hour Y without disturbing me"?!
We're talking about a feature wich is universally present in almost all mobile phones...and not present in my "extra-ultra-super-idevice"?!?
I'm going to write a feedback to Apple right now. Quiet disappointing...
I don't want to manually turn sound off or change notification settings every night before going to bed, sure I'll forget one day or the other, and I will be waked up in the middle of the night by a silly email!
