Sleep Mode disconnects Bluetooth Devices...

Recently, I noticed a new issue with my Macbook Pros bluetooth and Apple's Wireless Keyboard/mouse.

Once it goes into sleep mode, it seems to disconnect all bluetooth devices. I have to re-connect them once the computer is awake. Sometimes, even when it shows they have been re-connected they are not responsive, which requires me to unpair/pair them again to get them to work.

This has become very frustrating for me because I leave my MBP closed and use a apple 23" as the main display. Typically once the machine is in sleep mode, I would be able to wake it up by pressing the keyboard or mouse. Now I can no longer do that and have to wake it with a connected USB device.

I have currently resorted to setting my MBP's sleep time to "NEVER" and only have the display go to sleep.

Any advice for this issue?

My wireless keyboard and mouse stopped working while in the middle of typing tonight...
I couldn't even get the re-connected. the bluetooth preference would just hang.

I restarted my computer and now it says I don't have bluetooth on this machine!! I looked in console and this is the errors it reported during boot:

After doing some standard troubleshooting (Repair Permissions, delete bluetooth prefs, run hardware test, etc.)

Resetting the PRAM and SMC did the trick... bluetooth working again!

After doing this I realized the problems I had started occurring once i updated from 10.6.4 to 10.6.6 just a couple weeks ago... so if anyone else has this issue, try the PRAM and SMC.
