Red Dot and Won't Turn On

my battery died last night and this morning when i woke up and tried to plug it in (to both usb and the wall) a red dot, appeared to the left of the speaker and it wont turn on. I left it plugged in for a little while and a screen appeared with a usb chord with an arrow pointing toward the itunes logo. i now have it plugged in my computer but nothing is happening, my computer doesn't recognize it.

Check if it didn't get any liquid damage. (Sensors are located inside the HP Jack and dock connector + 2 additional on the logic board, inside the phone)
Otherwise it can be some other logic board failure.
But first, try to connect it in service mode and try to restore it with iTunes (press and hold home button and while holding it connect to your computer, then restore)

I've seen that issue twice before. Try to take a picture of it with a digital camera (can be from a different iphone) and see if the ligh will go white...if so it's the infrared sensor and in both cases I've seen the phones were water damaged, so I thought it's related to liquid exposure, but if you're not sure, then it's hard to say.
Try taking it to Apple or an iPhone Repair place and they may be able to diagnose that. Best option (if it's over the warranty period) would be to just put your logic board in a different phone and this way test if it's ok
