Soundcard disconnects...

Hi!

My Lexicon I-ONIX u82s does not wake up along with the Mac and hard drives after a night in sleep mode (closing the lid), but has to be disconnected and reconnected again for Logic (and the OSX all in all) to be able to play through it again. Quite anoying. Anyone haveing the same problem, or even more interesting: an sollution? 🙂

Kind (and cold) regards from Norway.

MacBook Pro i5, Mac OS X (10.6.4), Lexicon I-ONIX u82s, G-Drive mini 500GB, WD Elements SE Portable 500GB

If you "apply" certain parameters in audio preferences in Logic, it reset the audio driver. Maybe that will be simpler than a reboot.

Hi,

A simple solution is to go to Energy Saver in the System Pref.

Here you'll find three otions:

_Suspend computer activity after x amount of time

_Suspend screen activity after y amount of time

_Suspend hard disks activity as soon as possible

Set the first one (computer activity) to "never" and set the two others as you want.

This will solve the sound card disconnection.

If it still happen, unchecked the third one (hard disk activity). But this shouldn't be necessary.

Hope this helps.

Happy new year.
